 James Francis Cameron CC (born August 16, 1954) is a Canadian filmmaker from Canada. A prominent figure in the post-New Hollywood era, James Francis Cameron is considered to be to be one of the industry's most innovative filmmakers, regularly challenging the limits of cinematic potential through the use of cutting-edge technologies. The first film he directed was The Terminator (1984), which directed by him. The film has since seen success with Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2 (1991), Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) and True Lies (1994). Avatar (2009) as well as Titanic (1997) are his most successful films. He won Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director as well for Best Editing of Film. He has also been the winner of many other awards in the industry as well as two films that were selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in their National Film Registry. Alongside making films, he's also a National Geographic sea explorer and has made numerous documentaries on the subject,
