Serena Jameka Williams, born on 26th September 1981 is an American professional tennis player. She was named the world's No. one tennis player. The Women's Tennis Association (WTA), put her as No. one in singles for 319 weeks. This included an unprecedented 181 consecutive weeks. She was also the most popular player in the world at No. 1 . Five times. The parents Oracene and Richard Williams coached her. She took home 23 Grand Slam singles titles. This is the most she's ever won in Open Era. Turning professional in 1995, she took her first major singles title in the 1999 US Open. From 2002's French Open to the 2003 Australian Open, she was dominating, winning the major singles titles in all four events (each time over Venus in the final) to win the non-calendar year Grand Slam and the career Grand Slam, known as the 'Serena Slam'. The following years saw her claim two additional singles majors, but suffer from injury and decline in form. In 2007, she began to improve.
