Jo Koy

 Joseph Glenn Herbert, born June 2, 1971 is an American comedian and actor. He was a frequent panelist on E! He was an often-repeated panelist on E!'s late night show Chelsea Lately. He has since had several Comedy Central and Netflix specials.Jo Koy was born to a white American father who was serving in the United States Air Force stationed in the Philippines when he got married to Koy's Filipina mother. After graduating from high school, Tacoma, Washington Spanaway was relocated to Tacoma, Washington and then Las Vegas. He started at Spanaway Lake High School and then transferred to Foss High School in Tacoma. They moved to Las Vegas to be near his ailing grandmother. Jo Koy was enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. However the student dropped out to pursue stand-up comedy. It was revealed during his stand-up routine in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 22 the 22nd of September, 2019. in 1989 the comedian was discussing with his cousin about creating a stage name when his aunt contacted him to come to dinner, shouting "Jo Ko eat!" (Ko means "my" in Tagalog, so Jo Ko means "my Jo"). He misheard it and thought she was saying "Koy," decided it was a great name and has been using it since until now.
