Jeffrey Bruce Atkins, born on the 29th of February, 1976, better called Ja Rule (/dZa :/),), is an American actor and rapper. Born in New York City, he was first introduced in 1999 by Venni Vetti Vecci as well as its lead single "Holla Holla". Ja Rule, born and was raised in New York City, was signed to Murder Inc. Records by Irv Gotti. His songs spanned the years 1999 to 2005. Billboard's Hot 100 chart featured "Between Me and You", "I'm Real Murder Remix" and "I'm Funny" (both featuring Jennifer Lopez). The number one single, "Always on Time" was performed by Ashanti. "Mesmerize," that features Ashanti, "Between Me and You" was also a Billboard Hot 100 hit. After the release of his platinum-selling debut album Venni Vetti Vecci (1999) followed by his 2nd and 3rd albums, Rule 3:36 (2000) and Pain Is Love (2001). Both albums topped the US Billboard 200 album chart which helped him enter the mainstream.
