 Dua Lipa (/'du dua 'lipa/ 'dua 'lipa' ) (/ (listen) DOO-@ LEE-p@, Albanian"dua 'lipa born 22 August, 1995) is an English and Albanian[1] based singer and musician. With a mezzo-soprano voice She is well-known for her signature disco-pop sound. Lipa has won numerous awards which include six Brit Awards as well as three Grammy Awards. She also was awarded two MTV Europe Music Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. In 2014, Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records and released her debut album, "Lipa". The album peaked at third place on the UK Albums Chart and yielded eight singles including "Be the One", "IDGAF", and the UK number-one hit single "New Rules" that also peaked at number six in the US. The album was certified platinum in a variety of countries around the world and Lipa won the Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist in 2018 and British Breakthrough Act in 2018. The single she released in 2018, "One Kiss", reached the top spot in the UK. It also became the longest-running number-one single by female artists in 2018 which earned her the Brit Award for the Song of the Year in 2019.
