 Rebbeca Marie Gomez, born on March 2, 1997, popularly referred to as Becky G is an American performer and actress. She gained notoriety in 2011, when she started posting videos of herself covering popular songs online. Dr. Luke noticed one of her videos and offered her an agreement with Kemosabe Records as well as RCA Records. Gomez worked with Cody Simpson, Cher Lloyd as well as will.i.am on her debut album. "Becky from the Block" the first single from her debut album, was released in 2013. It received positive reviews. The singer released her debut extended play Play It Again later that same year. Her second and first 2014 single, "Can't Get Enough", featured guest vocals from Pitbull and was able to be the top single on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart in the United States.Gomez made it to the mainstream with the release of "Shower" in the same year. It went on to enter the top twenty of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song would go on to receive the multi platinum award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting two million units sold across the US.
