Amanda

 Amanda Tapping, a British-Canadian actress/director , was born on 28 August 1965. She is best known for portraying Samantha Carter in the Canadian-American military science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis as well as Stargate Universe. She also starred as Helen Magnus in the science fictional-fantasy TV series Sanctuary.Born in Rochford, Essex, England, Tapping moved with her family to Ontario, Canada, when she was three years old. North Toronto Collegiate Institute was where she was able to excel in environmental science and drama. But, after she graduated in 1984, she made the decision to pursue drama, attending the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts in Windsor, Ontario.Tapping is best recognized for her role as Samantha Carter in the science TV show Stargate SG-1, which debuted in 1997. After SG-1's final episode aired, Tapping was cast as Samantha Carter again on Stargate Atlantis. Tapping is currently the head of the Atlantis Expedition.
