Nikola Jokic (Serbian Cyrillic: Nikola Jokitsh, pronounced [nikola jokitc[listen] (listen); born the 19th of February, 1995) is a Serbian professional basketball player who is a center for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is four-time NBA All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Team four times, including three first-team selections. He also received the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in the 2021-22 and 2020-21 seasons. He is the official representative of Serbia's national team. Nicknamed "the Joker",[3The Joker, also known as the 3 Jokic, was selected by the Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft. In 2016, he was elected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In the 2018-19 NBA season, while leading the Nuggets to the Western Conference Semifinals, he received his first All-Star and All-NBA First Team selections. The following season, he also received All-Star and All-NBA recognition, while also helping his team reach the Western Conference Finals. Jokic is among the most elite 10 NBA players with the most number of triple-doubles (regular and playoffs), and is also the European center and player of the season.
