The thrilling conclusion of Netflix's YA drama The Society had its fans screaming for more. It was the final episode to reveal the events that took place to West Ham's teenagers. Netflix has confirmed that season 2 of The Society will be cancelled. The Netflix statement said: "We have made the difficult decision to not move ahead with The Society and I Am NOT Okay With This. We're sad to have to make these choices due to the circumstances created by COVID. "A source informed The Hollywood Reporter that despite being satisfied with the way both shows ran they were unable to overcome the "uncertainty" regarding dates for airing, "unexpected budget increases" due to the epidemic, and the complications of managing a large cast proved to be too difficult to overcome. Chris Keyser, showrunner at Variety explained that they spent the last couple of months getting ready to return and coping with COVID protocols in general. "And the next day, I received a call from Netflix saying, 'We have made this choice.' It was extremely upsetting and shocking.
