Pete Hegseth

Peter Brian Hegseth was born June 6, 1980. He is an American TV host writer, author, and Army National Guard officer. He also served as the executive director of two political advocacy groups Vets For Freedom (now Concerned Veterans for America). Hegseth is a member of the Koch brothers an advocacy group for conservatives, which advocates privatization of the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a Princeton University undergraduate. In 2016, he was portrayed as a vocal supporter and ally of Donald Trump's presidential candidacy, and served as an occasional advisor to Trump throughout his presidency. He was reportedly able to convince Trump to pardon three American soldiers, who were either convicted or accused of war crimes in connection with the shooting of non-combatants in Iraq. Hegseth was an Guantanamo bay platoon leader during his service in the military and also defended the treatment of inmates who were detained.
