Charley Jordan, born July 11, 1890, and died on November 15, 1954. He was an American St. Louis Blues singer, songwriter, guitarist and talent scout. Peetie, Roosevelt Sykes and Casey Bill Weldon were among Jordan's musical collaborators. He was famous for his "crisply-firm guitar" and had many of his greatest hits including "Keep It Clean". This was due to his other musical career as a bootlegger. It resulted in an ongoing disability that resulted in him walking on crutches afterward (which is evident in the handful of photos of Jordan available).
