Jonathan Dwight Jones (born July 19, 1987) is an American professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where he has participated in the division of light heavyweight. He was a two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, having held the title from March 2011 until April 2015, and then from December 2018 to August 2020. Jones was also the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion from 2016. As of November 14 2022, he's 13th in the UFC men's pound-for pound rankings.Jones was the youngest champion in UFC history after his title win over Mauricio Rua at age 23. Jones holds numerous UFC records, including the longest winning streak, most title defenses and wins in light heavyweight. In the course of his reign as a champion, Jones has been widely considered to be the best pound-for-pound fighter around the globe. Never stopped nor outscored during his time in the sport, Jones's one professional loss was a controversial disqualification from Matt Hamill; a result which Matt Hamill as well as UFC president Dana White dispute.
