Cheech Chong

 Cheech & Chong are a comedy duo consisting of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong.The duo enjoyed the success of their commercial and popular shows in the 1970s and 1980s with their stand-up routines, studio recordings, and feature films that were inspired by the hippie and free love era, and especially counterculture and drug-related movements, particularly their passion for cannabis.The pair were introduced in Vancouver, British Columbia, in the late 1960s. Chong was Canadian and Cheech moved to Canada from California during the Vietnam War. They performed stand-up comedy and had a number of success stories on comedy records, and appeared in a number of low-budget movies. Their most well-known songs and routines for comedy include "Earache My Eye" and "Basketball Jones", as well as "Santa Claus and His Old Lady". Their most well-known line is "Dave’s not here", which they released on their debut album. The album was their first feature-length film, Up in Smoke in 1978. It was a cult classic and also a hit enough in the box office (grossing over $44 million despite having a small budget)
